it's 2010.
2009 was quite a year. im glad it's over.

it's freezing today. it's so cold that you dont even want to head out to get dinner.
on a brighter note, i got good results in the lab today!(that's a rather rare occurrence)Praise God! (:

Christmas/New Year (:





The day he arrived, we took a bus to the grocery store and bought stuff for our Christmas Eve dinner ((: we bought the smallest turkey they had (5kg) and ended up eating less than 1/5 of it ): we slipped cubes of butter underneath the turkey's skin - it looked rather like cancerous growths. it turned out to be really yummy though (: I'm not sure why people get so nervous when it comes to cooking turkeys. it was a complete holiday dinner, with mash, veg and stuffing. yumm. (:

on Christmas day, we went down to NY to meet Justin ((: we bumped into Justin again outside some korean restaurant...lulu and her boyfriend were there too! ohhh, we had lunch at this famous burger place - it's called burger joint. the interior's slightly dodgy and the place is tiny, but it's always packed with people. it's in the lobby of a hotel, behind a red velvet curtain, tucked away in the corner. you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. yummy cheeseburgers (:



we went to Philadelphia for a day and did tourist-y things like visit the independence hall and benjamin franklin's grave. it was wonderfully sunny and warm <3

we had Philly cheesesteaks for lunch, at a place called Campos, which was surprisingly good. for dinner we stopped by a crab place called Di'nardo's Famous Crabs. haha. we were checking out the menu outside when a man passing by with his family yelled out "good food!" (:

Singapore's pepper crabs win hands down.





Princeton.

wandered around somewhat aimlessly on the days we stayed on campus (when i had pop by the lab). there's a little corner in Princeton that resembles his college in Oxford.

we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant (ajihei) one evening (yumm.) and his generous godmother picked up the tab, which was really nice of her ((:

andd we made pancakes for breakfast one morning! (: with lots of butter and maple syrup piled on. you're only allowed to flip each pancake once.










New Year's Eve!!

NYE countdown at times square! it's actually much more exciting on TV ):

it wasn't too cold because everyone was huddled together, but we stood around for 4h (yes, 4h). 1 celebrity would sing 2 songs at the start of each hour...and for the next 50min we had to entertain ourselves. we played silly word games/trivia until i threw in the towel. so we sought refuge in this pizza place - we hid in the basement for 2.5h until it was 2330 and time to head out (: the police were chasing everyone out of the restaurant at 2330 and everyone crowded around the front door pretending they were waiting to squeeze out, but there was a clear channel in front of the door because no one wanted to step out and get chased away from times square just before midnight. haha. it was quite hilarious. we managed to sneak into the crowd 20min before midnight and stayed for the final countdown ((:

i was a monster on new years day - lunch at udon west (yumm), cakes at panya (double yumm) and hot wings at kfc (triple yumm) -beams-



time to detox.
